Disconnect, Detox & Dial-Up

Day 68

“Have you ever noticed how easy it is to look back on events that happened a year or more in the past and see the perfection in them? For most of us, this is true, even for situations which seem tragic, horrible, or even devastating at the time. Now, if it is possible to see the perfection in those things a year later, doesn’t it make sense that the perfection must be there in the moment it happens, too?”

– Kurt Wright

I spent half the day today trying to recover my deleted data. As I was waiting for the recovery software to run the 6-hour scan for a second time to find my lost files, I knew I needed to take my own advice to focus on the positive and visualize the best possible outcome. Aware that my energy was anything but positive, I decided to disconnect from all my electronic devices and detoxify my mind of stress and negative thoughts, so that I could dial-back-up into positivity.

With six hours to go, I thought it was a good time to do some things that take me to my happy place, clear the clutter in my mind, and pamper myself a bit. Find the positive, Rajni. So, I started with laundry – there’s something about fresh linens that makes you feel good. I’ve been craving some good Italian spaghetti lately, and this situation presented the perfect opportunity for me to make my delicious homemade sauce. Watch for my recipe on Feed Street, I’ll post it soon!

With laundry done and put away, and tomato sauce simmering to perfection on the stove, it was time to go the my Ocean of Abundance. I learned this visualization technique several years ago from Jon Gabriel, who is a health and fitness expert, with an amazing story of how he turned his life around using visualization and positivity.

Imagine you are in an infinite ocean stretching as far as you can see in all directions. Even though you are in this ocean, you can still breathe just fine. Now imagine that this ocean is really an ocean of abundance, and that one drop of this water is equal to more [peace, love, money, joy, whatever you want to attract] than [you can possibly imagine in your lifetime]! You are completely submerged in it, and it goes as far as you can possibly imagine in all directions. Now, simply imagine that the pores of your skin are opening up, and that the water rushes into your body and then flows into your life. Imagine it flowing through you and creating any type of abundance you want…or just a general feeling of security. Affirm to yourself that you are always in this ocean, and anytime you need ANYTHING whatsoever, all you have to do is open your pores and allow it to flow to you.

Ah.  R-e-l-a-x…

I was starting to accept that I might not recover the data, and that it wouldn’t be the end of the world. Turns out the recovery software wasn’t working, and that’s exactly what happened. My mom called just as this happened, and she offered solace, like only a mother can. Thanks Mom! I had a good cry, let it go, and went back to the drawing board. Right then, I got a few new followers on my blog, and I cried tears of gratitude that my message was reaching people, and that nothing was really lost. I can re-create the data. At that same moment, I remembered that there was a solar new moon eclipse today, and according to Susan Miller, it’s supposed to “come chockfull of goodies and surprises for me.”

This moment was truly Divine, and I realized that there was good that could come from permanently losing all of my hard work for the last couple of months. I was able to find perfection in the moment.

Something good is brewing. I just know it.
