I remember being surprised with my dad’s off-the-cuff remark to me about the mourners at a funeral one time. He was an even-keeled person – he didn’t get over excited when things went well, and he didn’t get too upset when they didn’t. He believed that it was all part of the ebbs and flows of life, and to take it all in stride. Even at a funeral, he would pay his respects to the deceased, but he didn’t emote much, no matter how close he was to the person who passed.

This particular instance stands out in my mind because his comment seemed out of character, not because of what he said, that was completely in line with his philosophy, but how he said it, he was disappointed, almost a bit disgusted. He said “look at all these people here to pay their respects, why do people wait until a person is gone to appreciate them, it doesn’t matter to the person who is gone now, it would have made a difference while he was still living.“

Like The Fourth Insight explains, when we get caught up in our dramas, we deplete our energy. When that happens, our egos get in the way of seeing the beauty and perfection in all things, and we cut ourselves off from our Source Energy, which is love.

Love is the soul’s essence, and what we all strive for.

Don’t allow small conflicts to block your flow of energy, instead, send out good vibes. When you face a difficult situation, find a place of love within, project it out to your surroundings, and try to see the good and beauty in everything.

My mother always says that even an enemy bows to the soul of the departed because the soul is compelled by the energy of the departed’s soul. We feel this draw because the soul returns to it’s Divine Form of Pure Love after leaving the body, and our souls feel this Divine Energy, so we feel compelled to honor the departed, no matter how we felt about them while they were alive.

The Fifth Insight teaches us how to connect with this Divine Energy now. Once we connect, we see the Divinity in everything around us, and then we honor the living, instead of waiting until they’re gone to mourn the loss.

The Fifth Insight: The Spiritual Connection

“Breaking through to a connection with Divine energy and guidance.

Insecurity and violence ends when we experience an inner connection with divine energy within, a connection described by mystics of all traditions. A sense of lightness and buoyancy, along with the constant sensation of love, are measures of this connection. If these measures are present, the connection is real. If not, it is only pretended.

We breakthrough, at least momentarily, to experience a moment that seems to move us past our normal level of consciousness and we sense an ultimate connection. Sometimes, this event comes through a “spiritual practice” we’ve found that brings us to this moment. It could be a peak experience at a house of worship, or through prayer, meditation, music, communing with nature or a host of other points of entry.

Instantly, we receive a “fast forward” boost in our sense of well-being, peace, and even blissfulness. An experience described by prophets and saints as a greater sense of knowing and wisdom, and the deep emotion of love. Convincing us even more by “foretelling” that spiritual consciousness is real and provides a look ahead to the levels of awareness – the ultimate goal of spiritual evolution.”

When you focus on the positive, you feel love for everyone and everything in your experience, and then you attract more love back to you. As this cycle continues, you feel a sense of connection, and ultimately you experience a state of bliss. That’s when you’re connected to Divine Source Energy.
