Liberty

Day 186

“What light is to the eyes; what air is to the lungs; what love is to the heart; liberty is to the soul of man.”

– Robert Green Ingersoll

I didn’t plan to write about the holiday weekend’s festivities but then I came across a couple of stories steeped in positivity that made it hard to resist.

If you live in the GTA, or you’re Canadian, you probably already know that our illustrious leader participated in the Toronto Pride Parade yesterday. Like I said, I wasn’t going to write about it, but I thought the feature image was really cool and I wanted it to be part of the collage of my year of positivity, and it’s not every day that you see a head of state walking among the masses, sweaty, disheveled, holding a flag of his country embellished with the gay pride flag. As a matter of fact, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made history as the first leader of a nation to participate in such an event. #proudtobeCanadian

Meanwhile, south of the border, in Rush City, MN, an army veteran used a gun to save a life – of a bald eagle, on the fourth of July weekend no less.

Why did I choose to share these stories and where is my insight you ask? Liberty for all living and sentient beings breathes life into the soul of man, and like Mr. Trudeau so eloquently said, “we have to speak up anytime there is intolerance or discrimination.”

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
