The Weighting Game

Day 218

“Your body is an absolute mirror of your mind. As you worry, your body shows it. As you love, your body shows it. As you are overwhelmed, your body shows it. As you are angry your body shows it. Every cell of your body is being allowed or resisted by the way you feel. ‘My physical state is a direct reflection of how I feel’, instead of ‘How I feel is a direct reflection of my physical state’.”

– Abraham-Hicks

Almost more than money, limiting beliefs about body image hinder us from living the life we dream of. We are bombarded with messages of what is deemed to be acceptable physical beauty and ideal body image from a very young age, both outwardly, and subliminally, and we form subconscious beliefs to match. As a result, attaining the ideal body is possibly the most sought-after goal, and equally the most wide-spread cause of low self-esteem, becoming the reason so many don’t pursue their passions.

There are as many individual limiting beliefs associated with weight and body image as there are people who have them. Whether you hold a belief that your weight is the barrier to doing what you love, or a belief that you can’t achieve your ideal body, or some combination of the two, once you clear these deeply ingrained subconscious beliefs you will reach your body image goals, and be able to accomplish the things you feel hesitant to pursue because you aren’t happy with the way you look.

Here are examples of some common beliefs related to physical appearance:

  • Once I lose weight, I will be able to love myself completely.
  • When I look the way I want to, I will be happy and / or start dating again.
  • When I reach my goal weight I will finally be able to wear a swim suit.
  • I can’t lose weight or reach my ideal body goal because I’m too old.
  • I’ve failed so many times before, it won’t work this time either.
  • I hate exercise so it’s hopeless.
  • I don’t have the time to workout.
  • Even if I do try, it won’t work because I have slow metabolism.
  • I have ______ physical / medical condition.

The list is endless. If you haven’t thought one or many of these beliefs yourself, I’m pretty sure you know someone who has. The truth is that it’s not what you eat, or how much you exercise that determines your physical appearance, it’s your beliefs about your world that literally shape your body.

Ironically, the more you can love yourself, and your body just the way it is right now, the quicker you will be able to reach your goals. As long as you hold these limiting beliefs about your weight, you are coming from a state of lack, and that will only attract more of what you don’t want. Once you start to embrace your beauty, and realize that you are unique, and have your own special gift to share with the world, you will be much closer to manifesting the outer appearance you desire to match your beauty within.

Here’s an incredible video of one woman’s journey to manifesting the “perfect” body, and then realizing that it was already perfect to begin with.

“You are not a mistake. You are not a problem to be solved. But you won’t discover this until you are willing to stop banging your head against the wall of shaming and caging and fearing yourself.” – Geneen Roth

“There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty.” – Steve Maraboli

”I finally realized that being grateful to my body was key to giving more love to myself.” – Oprah Winfrey

”The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.” – Buddha

“The physical world, including our bodies, is a response of the observer. We create our bodies as we create the experience of our world.” – Deepak Chopra

“Spiritual healing is KNOWING that the body is perfect. Mental healing is effecting a perfect body by visualizing the body as perfect.” – Lester Levenson

“Someone asked us recently, “Is there any limitation to the body’s ability to heal?” And we said, “None, other than the belief that you hold.” And he said, “Then why aren’t people growing new limbs?” And we said, “Because no one believes that they can.” – Abraham-Hicks

“Every weight loss program, no matter how positively it’s packaged, whispers to you that you’re not right. You’re not good enough. You’re unacceptable and you need to be fixed.” – Kim Brittingham

“Remember, you have been criticizing yourself for years and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.” – Louise L. Hay

Hopefully, you’re starting to realize that consciously loving yourself is the first step to achieving your physical appearance goals now, and you’re ready to work on clearing the subconscious beliefs with this tapping video.

Do whatever it is that you’re waiting to do once you look “perfect”. Don’t wait, it’s your time – you are perfect, right now.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
