The Wait Is Optional

Day 291

“Whatever we are waiting for – peace of mind, contentment, grace, the inner awareness of simple abundance – it will surely come to us, but only when we are ready to receive it with an open and grateful heart.”

– Sarah Ban Breathnach

Today is a big milestone for me –  this is my 300th post since, well ever, but specifically since January 1, 2016. It doesn’t feel like that long ago since I started my Positivity 365 Project, it certainly doesn’t feel like I’ve written 300 posts already. You know the feeling?

They say a watched pot never boils. I’m sure you’ve experienced how quickly time flies when you aren’t focused on the passage of time versus when you are waiting for something to happen; and then the clock doesn’t seem to move – that’s because when you’re waiting, your thoughts are focused on the proverbial pot, instead of your desired outcome.

I’ve been playing with energy experiments for the last couple of weeks, so I’m hyper-aware of how quickly the Universe responds to my intentions. I’m noticing that things in line with the intentions I set for the experiments still continue to come into my experience almost daily because once I set the intention, I forgot about it, and did not wait for the result to manifest, or focus on the lack of it.

When you set an intention, the Universe responds instantly. If you tried the exercise I shared the other day, you would have felt the corresponding feelings you associate with love as soon as you set the intention to feel love.

The Universe responds instantly to all of your intentions, not just with feelings; your intentions for experience and physical objects also manifest instantly.

I know, you’re thinking where is my dream home, my big bank account, my soul mate?

It is manifest, it just hasn’t manifest in physical form yet because we frequently contradict our intentions by stressing out when they don’t appear instantly; and they don’t appear instantly because our thoughts spin like a whirling dervish in every direction, focusing on all the evidence that our desire has not manifest.

Let’s take an example. You set an intention to increase your income. You visualize it, you feel the feeling of having received it, and then you let it go, knowing that you have “placed your order” with the Universe, and you mostly believe that it will manifest, even though you’re not completely one hundred percent sure. That’s ok, the Universe is already working to bring your desire into your experience.

Then, a day passes, and nothing happens. A week passes, and still nothing. You start to focus on the lack of having your desire, and start to doubt yourself. You wonder if you “did it right.” Another week passes and still nothing. Now, you begin to get discouraged and think this manifestation stuff doesn’t work, or you’re unlucky, or whatever your default story is. Your default story, you believe one hundred percent, and of course, that’s the vibration you send out to the Universe, and the Universe responds instantly, halting your income from increasing because you are already living in your belief that it will not manifest.

If you would instead just relax, and hold on to the belief that you’ve done your part by setting your intention, and focus on the feeling of having it, your desire would manifest just as quickly as the unwanted manifestation. When you focus on the waiting instead of having, you vibrate at a frequency of not having, and the Universe responds accordingly.

In order to manifest your desire, you must remain aligned with your desire, and hold coherent intentions in line with your desire. Just like the watched pot, once you let go of the urgent need for your desire to manifest, there will be no time delay.

  1. Thanks Marie! Yes, I know – always easier said than done…or it is? Maybe that’s the “story” we need to stop telling ourselves 😉 I’m working on it too. Keep at it, I promise you, it DOES work! 🙂

  2. Good advice..its always good to commit to something, positive, and believe in faith. No doubting. Easier said than done but I’m working on it! Thank you for sharing. 😊
