I Like It

Day 299

“Every happening, great and small, is a parable whereby God speaks to us, and the art of life is to get the message.”

– Malcolm Muggeridge

Our likes and dislikes are more than just ego-based preferences; they are part of our internal guidance system.

I was reminded of that this morning.

I chose between three photographs for yesterday’s feature image. The first was of a shaman from the Amazon; the second, a beautiful image of the rainforest – either one would have been a “better” choice than the image of a frog that I went with. Even though the frog is from the rainforest, it isn’t obvious how it relates to my post on healing oneself, but I chose it because I liked it the most, and I felt like it was the best choice.

I meant to look up the symbolism of a frog – I was curious to see if there was any connection to healing, like the time I was guided to meditate on the peacock to tune into joy, but I forgot.

This morning, I saw today’s daily prompt, transformation, and then remembered to look up frog symbolism. This is the first thing I found:

When the frog jumps into your life it may indicate now is a time to find opportunities in transition…the frog undergoes incredible transformations to reach the destination of full adulthood, and so do we as humans.

The article went on to say that the frog is believed to represent curative or healing powers because of its connection with water and cleansing rains, and that it is a good luck symbol.

I was blown away by the synchronicity with my post, and thought I should look at another site to see if they had the same meaning for the frog. That site was even more mind blowing.

It said that the frog is a symbol for prosperity, transformation and spiritual cleansing; that cleansing is the catalyst for change that washes away the blocks to abundance, and that the frog power teaches the art of cleansing and it’s powers to renew mind, body and spirit.

I inadvertently used an image that symbolizes healing, restorative powers and positive energy for a post about those exact things, however my subconscious knew exactly what it was doing because it is constantly guiding, steering and informing my journey.

“Synchronicity is choreographed by a great, pervasive intelligence that lies at the heart of nature, and is manifest in each of us through intuitive knowledge.”

– Deepak Chopra

We are always being guided by an inner knowing, a Divine Guidance, even for the small things. Don’t dismiss your preferences as baser instincts that have no deeper meaning or merit – they’re telling you something…it’s up to you to get the message.
