My Birthday Wish

Day 321

“Isn’t it nice to think that today is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?”

– L.M. Montgomery

I recently read a passage in a book that really made an impression on me.

It’s my birthday today, and I want to harness the energy of this new cycle, on the heels of the Super Moon, to do something that might make a difference, even if it’s a small one.

As I was trying to formulate my thoughts and articulate what it was that I wanted, I was reminded of the passage I read because it sparked my birthday wish.

We often hear people say to live each day as if it’s your last, and at first glance, it makes sense, right? Unless you start to think about what that really means. Consider this:

live-each-day-dialogue

What if each of us suspended our obligations, guilt, regrets, what ifs, fears, shoulda-woulda-coulda’s and whatever else, and for one moment, or one event, or one situation, or one response, or for today, if not longer, we let go of all the crap and just lived as if this day was our first – with no limits, no baggage, no preconceived notions, no judgements. Just pure spirit.

“The purpose of life is to be restored back to Love, moment to moment. To fulfill this purpose, the individual must…come to see that…problems are not people, places, and situations, but rather the thoughts of them.”

– Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len

  1. Makes wonderful sense. My dad decided to live each day as if it were his last. He was so excited he died of heart attack. I think if it WAS your last day you’d be so worked up about dying you’d spend the whole day crying and throwing stuff. Pretty crappy way to live, so I’m with you. Happy birthday.
