Day 341
“Perfect happiness is a beautiful sunset, the giggle of a grandchild, the first snowfall. It’s the little things that make happy moments, not the grand events. Joy comes in sips, not gulps.”
– Sharon Draper
As the saying goes…God is in the detail.
Living a life you love has much to do with your day-to-day experiences. Of course, the big things like what you do with your time, who you spend it with, and the like, matter, but sometimes even when things aren’t going the way you’d like them to, the small things can make a big difference.
“Little things seem nothing, but they give peace, like those meadow flowers which individually seem odorless but all together perfume the air.”
– Georges Bernanos
Today’s principle is a natural extension of my evening last night. Enjoying life’s simple pleasures, whether it’s spending time with your pet, cooking a good meal when everything around you is chaos, indulging in a little aroma therapy, or enjoying the beauty of the first big snowfall, make every day a special day.
Synchronicity Snippet: I found all the quotes for this post after I wrote it; they couldn’t be more fitting if I wrote them myself!
Speaking of snowfalls, a friend sent me this short video a couple of days ago – there’s nothing quite as magical as the glitter of snow falling! I overlaid the obvious song to the scene. Enjoy this short clip:
No matter how crazy your day is, take the time to enjoy the little things that brighten your day…’tis the season for symbolic gestures and precious moments.

Grand “things” are usually formed by the accumulation of precious little ones. Every moment is a gift and a possibility to make a difference.
Great post Rajni! Thanks for the lovely reminder to cherish life and every precious moment.
