Day 119
“Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness. The word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. It is far better to take things as they come along with patience and equanimity.”
– Carl Jung
I was going to write today’s post about how integrity is a necessary ingredient in using the law of attraction to manifest the life of your dreams. I was going to talk about how you can’t manifest your desires if you’re not living authentically in all areas of your life, but then I came across an article that says everything I was going to say, so I decided to just let you read it instead.
Integrity was on my mind today because someone who I was fond of did something that was intentionally hurtful to me, and then told me that it was my perception, despite the concrete evidence to the contrary.
Where I come from, that is dishonest.
Honesty is more than not lying. It is truth telling, truth speaking, truth living, and truth loving.
– James E. Faust
In the past, adding insult to injury would have upset me, but this time, it made me smile. I have often written about how our thoughts create our reality. In fact that’s the whole underlying premise of my blog – to see how I can shape my life by consciously thinking positively. So, I created this situation too. It’s true, when I think about it, I do have an underlying belief that supports what actually happened, so my thoughts did create this reality. I wrote the script, and he merely acted out the part in my play.
And I’m so grateful he did.
The Universe is always listening and responding to our thoughts, beliefs, feelings and desires. Sometimes we get off track and seemingly “bad” things happen to help us get back on course to where we want to go.
We create our reality by attracting experiences that match with our beliefs. Whether we perceive those experiences as good or bad, there is a reason for each experience to show up when it does. Every circumstance fits into the larger plan of manifesting our desires. When our conscious thoughts are off track and we need a course correction, our subconscious minds come up with a solution that might involve something seemingly negative, but really it’s to get us back on the path to manifesting what we truly want.
Just as synchronicity is a sign that we are on the right path, negative experiences serve as course corrections when we veer off the path towards our desires.
That’s what this situation did for me – it got me refocused on what I want to manifest, and made me even more grateful for the authentic people in my life.
So, next time something “negative” shows up in your life, take a moment to see just how much of a blessing it is. The experience will remind you all the greatness you already have in your life, and it might even save you from going down a path that wasn’t going to help you get to your desired destination.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
