Mighty Laws

Day 237

“The greatest revolution of our generation is the discovery that human beings by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives”

– William James

I’ve come across some great quotes and passages in my readings lately from luminaries of the new thought movement that need no prologue or explanation; they speak volumes on their own, and are worth the time to meditate upon, so I thought I’d try to share some of them with you from now until the end of the year, in what I’m calling Food For Thought Friday.

I think that there’s greater awareness and acceptance of the power of thought today than when William Walker Atkinson wrote this passage.

Are you beginning to understand the role your thoughts play in your experience? Consider this:

“We speak learnedly of the Law of Gravitation
but ignore that equally wonderful manifestation,
the law of attraction in the thought world.”

“We are familiar with that wonderful
manifestation of Law which draws and holds
together the atoms of which matter is composed –
we recognize the power of the law
that attracts bodies to the earth,
that holds the circling worlds in their places,
but we close our eyes to the mighty law
that draws to us the things we
desire or fear, that makes or mars our lives.”

“When we come to see that
thought is a force – a manifestation of
energy – having a magnet-like power
of attraction, we will begin to understand
the why and wherefore of many things
that have heretofore seemed dark to us.”
