Day 256
“That best portion of a man’s life, his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.”
– William Wordsworth
I manifested an expensive item a couple of weeks ago, and I was elated. On my way home from picking it up, I saw a homeless man standing at a street corner. I was too far to reach him at the intersection, but turned around so I could come back and give him some money. I gave him all the cash I had in my purse, which was $10, and as a result, I had to forfeit picking up some extras for dinner that night because I didn’t have time to get to the bank.
When I got home, although I was thrilled that I had manifested something I wanted, I was even happier about helping that man on the street.
I read a story today about an 89-year old man who pushes an ice-cream cart to pay the bills. Fidencio Sanchez and his wife recently lost their daughter, who left behind two children that they are left to raise. Needing money to pay the bills and feed their family, Fidencio continues to go out to sell ice cream every day.
One stranger was so moved by his plight, that he created a crowdfunding campaign to help him out. The fund has already raised over $180,000, in just 2 days. Take a look:
Sometimes we are in a position to help others, and sometimes we need the help ourselves. No matter which end of the equation you are on, it will bring you joy.
“When a bird is alive, it eats ants, but when the bird is dead, ants eat the bird. One tree makes a million match sticks, but only one match stick is needed to burn a million trees. Time and circumstance can change at any moment. Do not devalue or hurt anyone in life. You may be powerful today, but remember Time is more powerful than you. So be good and do good.”
– Buddha
Never under estimate the kindness of performing random acts of kindness, they are the greatest gifts you can give yourself.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
