Detached Action

Day 166

“The more we can love and appreciate others, the more energy flows into us. That’s why loving and energizing others is the best possible thing we can do for ourselves.”

– James Redfield

Most Indian kids from my generation weren’t allowed to date until we were “marriageable age”, and I was no exception – sort of. Once I started university, or maybe a year or so before, my parents kinda accepted that I was dating, but even then, my dad would say, “it’s fine, I have nothing against him, but why not just be friends. You should experience everything  that comes with your age, don’t limit yourself with ties at such a young age.” As my mother often says, he was a lover of freedom.

He believed in striving for a life of detached action according to the teachings of Lord Krishna in The Bhagavad Gita. In other words, he believed that we should do our duty without desiring a particular outcome. Detachment is a hard concept to grasp, and even harder to practice.

The Eighth Insight offers some insight on how to give of ourselves to help lift others up, and at the same time, to increase our own energetic vibration, and receive important guidance from the people we come across in our lives. It shows us how to interact with others, whether they are your children, romantic partners, friends and colleagues, or even strangers, and at the same time, this insight warns not to get attached to the point where we deplete our own energy, or the energy of those we love.

The Eighth Insight: Giving Energy Increases Synchronistic Experiences

“Amplifying the flow even more by being a constant and energetic inspiration for others to grow in their most inspired truth for you.

Children are end points in evolution that lead us forward. But in order to learn to evolve they need our energy on a constant basis, unconditionally. The worst thing that can be done to children is to drain their energy while correcting them. This is what creates control dramas in them. But these learned manipulations on the child’s part can be avoided if the adults give them all the energy they need no matter what the situation. That is why they should always be included in conversations, especially conversations about them.

Whenever people cross our paths, there is always a message for us. Chance encounters do not exist. But how we respond to these encounters determines whether we’re able to receive the message. If we have a conversation with someone who crosses our path and we do not see a message pertaining to our current questions, it does not mean there was no message. It only means we missed it for some reason.

Have you ever run into an old friend or acquaintance, talked for a minute and left, then run into him or her again the same day or the same week?

And what do you usually say? Something like “Well, fancy seeing you again, and laugh and go on your way.”

What we should do instead in that situation is to stop what we are doing, no matter what, and find out the message we have for that person, and that the person has for us. Once humans grasp this reality, our interaction will slow down and become more purposeful and deliberate.

When we appreciate the shape and demeanor of a person, really focus on them until their shape and features begin to stand out and to have more presence, we can then send them energy, lifting them up.

When you give another more energy than they would have otherwise, they can see what their truth is and more readily give it to you. When they do that, they have a sense of revelation about what they’re saying. This leads you to see their higher self even more fully and so appreciate and focus on it at an even deeper level, which gives them even more energy and greater insight into their truth and the cycle begins over again.

Two or more people doing this together can reach incredible highs as they build one another up and have it immediately returned. You must understand, though, that this connection is completely different from a co-dependent relationship. A co-dependent relationship begins this way but soon becomes controlling because the addiction cuts them off from their source and the energy runs out. Real projection of energy has no attachment or intention. Both people are just waiting for the messages.

The Eighth Insight warns against your growth being stopped when you become addicted to another person. When love first happens, the two individuals are giving each other energy unconsciously and both people feel buoyant and elated. That’s the incredible high we all call being in love. Unfortunately, once they expect this feeling to come from the other person, they cut themselves off from the energy in the universe and begin to rely even more on the energy from each other only now there doesn’t seem to be enough and so they stop giving each other energy and fall back into their dramas in an attempt to control each other and force the other’s energy their way. At this point the relationship degenerates into the usual power struggle.

We can increase the frequency of guiding coincidences by uplifting every person that comes into our lives. Care must be taken not to lose our inner connection in romantic relationships. Uplifting others is especially effective in groups where each member can feel energy of all the others. With children, this is extremely important for their early security and growth. By seeing the beauty in every face, we lift others into their wisest self, and increase the chances of hearing a synchronistic message.

Once we clearly see the process of Synchronicity, what we observe most often is that PEOPLE provide many of our Synchronistic experiences; yet, sometimes others do not feel comfortable talking to us (related to the commonly used, “first-impression theory”). As a result, we end up leaving that encounter feeling as though we missed out on something they were supposed to tell us.

We find another step-up in consciousness when we grasp the solution to this problem. We must adopt an additional ethic toward others, one which enhances our attitude of giving as we communicate with them. We must actively “uplift” others by visualizing an expression of a higher connected consciousness in their eyes and on their face – continue to visualize them moving above their ego into an authentic, united state. As a result of this, not only is the person lifted into a greater level of experience, they are more likely to intuit some message they have for us.”

– James Redfield

When you stay open, mindful and conscious of your surroundings and interactions, you will begin to see that everyone you meet serves a purpose in your life – they may be a guide, or have a message for you, and that you too, have something to offer them as well.

You’ll find that the more you open up to people, and appreciate the beauty and perfection in every moment, the more connected and energized you feel, and as the cycle continues, The Universe responds by opening up more of it’s magnificence and abundance to you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
