God Is in the House

Day 11

I sent an email to my family this morning to introduce KL and give them a sneak peek before I start publicizing it.

In a perfectly synchronous occurrence, sister #3 sent an email sharing her thoughts on David’s Bowie’s death and relating it to a movie she’d seen over the weekend. I told her she could post it on KL. Once I saw it published on my blog with the rest of my posts, I realized that I wanted a way to separate out others’ voices from my own. I decided to create a separate page for KL Guests. Along with this idea, three of my desires have manifested.

When I created this site, I had the idea that I wanted the site to have my dad’s initials – MLK. I got the L and the K with Kuri Lane. But no M. I was fine with that. But as we know, the universe is always listening and responding to our thoughts and feelings. By absolutely no luck or coincidence, my desire was granted today. The punjabi word for guest is mehmaan. And even though I’m calling it KL Guests, I got my M for mehmaan! There’s some poetic symmetry in the fact that the site initials are reversed, KLM, symbolizing a circle, which has no end and no beginning, much like our eternal forms. That’s manifestation #1.

Ever since he returned to his eternal form in 2009, I wanted to create some kind of tribute to honor my dad and what he believed in; a living memorial that embodied his principles. He always said that a guest, mehmaan, in your home was to be treated like God; a common Indian custom. As I built out the KL Guests site, it occurred to me that not only had I carved out a special area for fellow travelers to offer submissions, but I had created a virtual guest room for my contributors to have a place to share their thoughts. I had created a cozy little nook in my virtual home to welcome my guests to come in for a “cup of chai”, and a chat…a chai chat. That’s manifestation #2.

About 10 years ago, before internet dating was thing, I had a business idea for a unique online dating site that I had called Chai Chat. It never got off the ground, but it was a project that was near and dear to me. I’ve always wanted to use the name in some way. Now, I can refer to guest posts as chai chats. Who knows, I may even start KL podcasts, and have an opportunity to sit down for a chai chat with some of famous conscious creators like Louise Hay, Rhonda Byrne, Jim Carrey, Oprah, maybe even Denzel or Matt Damon! That’s manifestation #3.

I just put an intention out into the universe. I’ll refer back to this post when it manifests, and now that I’ve put it out there, I know it will. Oprah, here I come!

In the meantime, welcome to KL Guests, please share your journey.
