Drops in the Ocean

Day 40

“Everything we do, even the slightest thing we do, can have a ripple effect and repercussions that emanate. If you throw a pebble into the water on one side of the ocean, it can create a tidal wave on the other side.”

– Victor Webster

I started this positivity project to see how it would affect my life, and today, I am witnessing some of the ripple effects it’s having on other peoples’ lives.

A few days ago, my niece saw a picture of an “instant happy note” on social media, with a link to the company that sells them. Normally, she would have just liked the picture, thought it was cute and moved on. This time, she actually clicked on the link and bought the sticky notes. She’s been literally sticking her friends with good cheer, who in turn, have passed on their positive energy to others throughout their day. This is the ripple effect of my blog. My niece has internalized my message of positivity and her subconscious mind has accepted my message as part of her belief system. Whoa! That’s some pretty amazing stuff!

This is an example of how anything you do can make a difference. Something as simple as “sticking” a message on someone that says a few kind words can change the tone of their day, or change the way they see the world, or maybe even change the world.

My positivity is attracting more positive ripples into my experience every day – I’ve had a few people comment on my posts telling me that they love my message, and today, someone commented:  “Words in poetry, such beauty. This is just what I needed to hear. Thanks for sharing.” I actually welled up with tears; there’s nothing more rewarding than the feeling you get from knowing that what you are doing is changing lives for the better!

And if that wasn’t enough, the work I’ve been doing for the last 40 days inspired someone to get their own business idea off the ground today. Being positive has already had such an amazing impact on my life, and the lives of others, in such a short time, I can’t wait to see what else happens as the year progresses. Bring it on!

Next time you feel like spreading some positivity, “stick” someone with your own happy note, and create some ripples. I’ll leave you with a few of my niece’s favorite happy notes.

Happy Notes

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
