Changing Of The Guard

Day 136

“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”

– Marilyn Monroe

My week long introspection came full circle today with the witnessing of the magic of the Universe at work first-hand, well, on television, but still, it was pretty awe-inspiring! Auto racing may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of examples of the law of attraction at work. Then again, maybe it is.

We often hear stories about how the conscious use of the law of attraction played a role in an athlete’s success, or a team’s championship win because they visualized their success, like this one I wrote a while ago. I watched a Formula One race today that brought me to tears of joy because I could see the law of attraction at work.

If you’re not familiar with Formula One, not to worry, this story is not only about car racing, but it’s also about believing in your dreams and having faith that the Universe will deliver.

Formula One race drivers are typically in their 20’s and if you’re really good, you stick around in your early 30’s, but getting to F1 is no easy feat – it’s the crème de la crème in motor sports. Red Bull has two Formula One teams – Red Bull is their “A team”, and Toro Rosso is their junior team, with less experienced drivers racing for that team.

Within the last week, Red Bull management made a decision to switch one of their senior drivers from Red Bull down to Toro Rosso and promote a junior driver up to Red Bull in time for today’s race. The reason they made this decision is not really relevant, except to say that it was a risky decision, one that might not have even been considered at any other time, if the Universe hadn’t conspired to align things just so. The reason it’s such an incredible switch is that the driver they promoted is 18 year old Max Verstappen. He’s the youngest driver in F1 history, and he’s only been driving for one season, not a likely candidate to move to the A-team so quickly.

There’s a few drivers who typically secure one of the three winning positions on the podium for each race to receive a trophy for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place, or it’s a close competition amongst the top 3 or 4 best drivers. Last season and this season, the top two positions have been most often held by Mercedes’ team mates Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.

What happened in today’s race is an example of the Universe moving all the pieces into place to realize a desire. I watched it happen, and I could almost visualize God picking up the chess pieces and moving them into place for the perfect check mate.

You see, Hamilton and Rosberg are the top two drivers in the drivers’ championship, and if anyone wanted to win this race, let alone someone as young and inexperienced as Verstappen, it would be a pretty difficult task. Without knowing what young Max thought, believed or did to prepare for today’s race, I can assume that he wanted to win. I would even hazard to guess it would be a dream come true. I can only imagine that he might have visualized the win, and he most likely had a burning desire to do so. All the elements necessary to manifest desires using the Law of Attraction.

Each race consists of anywhere from 50 – 70 laps, and there’s a pre-race day qualification to determine each driver’s starting position. Mercedes’ two top guns, who aren’t the best of friends to say the least, had the first two starting positions in today’s race. In the first lap, they got into a bit of a pissing match with each other and ended up crashing both of their race cars, resulting in both of them being out of the race. Un. Heard. Of.

As the race progressed, it became apparent that our young Max had a chance of making it to the podium. All of a sudden, it clicked in my mind and I just knew it was his desire that brought the turn of events that took place in the last week together, all designed to make his dream a reality. You see, if Mercedes’ two silver bullets were in the race, young Max didn’t really have a chance today, but these obstacles were removed from his path, without him having to do anything to make it happen. The path cleared for him to, yes, you guessed it, WIN THE RACE!!! Max Verstappen is the youngest driver in F1 history to have ever won the grand prix. Absolutely amazing!

Everything happens for a reason. For the best reason. For your greatest good. If you think your desires are too crazy to even imagine, dare to dream them anyway. The Universe doesn’t know the meaning of impossible, the Universe only knows that it’s job is to manifest your desires. Sometimes, Keeping It Real means believing in yourself, believing that everything happens for a reason, believing in the magic of the Universe. So go ahead, believe…you will win your race! Go Max!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
