I watched the movie The Forger last night. John Travolta’s character plays an art forger, and there was a line in the movie where his character described how he was able to forge masterpieces that stuck out for me. He said he had to feel what the artist was feeling in order to reproduce the art.
I instantly thought that’s how life works – you have to feel what you are trying to create before you can create it. That’s the Law of Attraction in a nutshell.
I did a bit of research today and found an interview with Travolta when the movie showcased at the Toronto International Film Festival (tiff), and found out that Travolta had the same sentiment as his character – he needed to experience the feeling of being a forger. This is an effective technique that many actors use, called method acting to get into character, and he actually forged the Monet in the film – the Monet is today’s feature image.
In his interview, Travolta shared the difference between the artist’s rendering and the forger’s:
“A forger is the only one that knows the difference because there’s an aesthetic…like a frequency, that distinguishes the real work from a forgery. It’s a feeling from the painting you get itself that cannot be technically reproduced. You cannot duplicate the emotion and the communication exactly, and the forgers know this.”
There’s a frequency; a vibration; a feeling you get from the painting.
This insight beautifully illustrates the idea that once you “capture the feeling” of having received that which you desire, it must manifest in the material world.
Everything that we create begins with a feeling that sends out a matching energetic vibration.
Pay attention to your thoughts, they are constantly sending out corresponding vibrations into the ethers, so if you find yourself thinking something that will return something other than what you desire, change your thoughts, and send out the vibes you wish to receive.
