Day 366
“The most important thing to do to reach your goals is to just get started with little things. The Universe will bring you the people and resources you need at the right time, until eventually your vision will materialize just the way you imagined it before you began.”
– Rajni Kurichh
It’s Day 366! Woot woot!!! I did it. This is my 377th post this year!
I considered “Cup Runneth Over” as a title for this post, but I wanted to emphasize that this post took a 365-day commitment to positive thinking; to conscious creation; to daily blogging – one thought, one word, one post at a time, to write.
When I started this blog, it was to document my journey in an attempt to maintain a positive outlook, all day, every day, for a whole year, come what may. I didn’t know what would come of it, other than I knew it would guide me towards the fulfillment of my desires, and it has in ways that I couldn’t have imagined 366 days ago.
This blog has turned out to be so much more than the place I penned my positivity journey. It has become my journey. It has become my teacher, trainer, mirror, blessing, thorn-in-my-side and guide, among other things.
I learned and re-affirmed many things this year, but one lesson in particular kept repeating itself – and that’s really what today’s message is:
When you take one step after another towards your dreams, no matter how small, the road in front of you will keep paving the way. As long as you have faith and keep going, you will get to your destination.
And not only will you reach the goal you set out to reach, you will find improvements in all areas of your life – you may have noticed that my Thirty-One Principles of Positivity ran into each other and overlapped in many cases; that’s because you can’t be positive in a vacuum.
When you start to focus on the good, the good starts to spill into all areas of your life.
So much has happened both inwardly, and in the physical world through this positivity journey that I’d need to write a book to share everything that I’ve learned and experienced…oh wait, that is exactly what I plan to do in 2017! Interestingly, the feature image of my first post says to write a good book, and so I have. There are no coincidences.
So, for the purposes of this finale, I will try to keep it as brief as possible, and hopefully leave you with some insights and inspiration to move forward on your own journey.
Attempting to be positive all the time gave me some insight into what it really means to be positive – not the garden lip-service variety, but the from-your-heart true positivity.
The first thing I learned was that being positive doesn’t mean stuffing your feelings, it means expressing them, even negative ones. It means allowing yourself to feel all your feelings freely, and then recognizing that you don’t have to stay stuck there – you can even enjoy the sadness or whatever you’re feeling, and then let it go and move forward into whatever comes next. But move forward.
I witnessed, on a daily basis, that the Universe responds to my every thought, and I create my reality accordingly, based on the thoughts I choose to focus on. My journey taught me to trust the higher power within; to believe that I have the power to manifest anything I desire.
Know that no matter what you experience, you have everything you need already within you to overcome any obstacles in your path. Nobody has that power over you.

One of the most profound things that came out of this year is that it taught me that positivity and authenticity go hand in hand.
When you are not being yourself or expressing your true voice, you send out vibes telling the Universe that you think you are not enough, that you don’t deserve good, and the Universe will respond accordingly.
I also learned that it’s important to enjoy the process – to have fun, to be kind, and expose yourself to new things along the way. And the more you enjoy yourself, the more enjoyable things you’ll attract into your world.
Even though I tried to have fun and keep a positive outlook 24/7, I had some ups and downs. My “downs” coincided with periods of writer’s block, or maybe they precipitated them. I learned that those times were actually a blessing and a gift – they made me look for inspiration within; they made me look for the good in situations when I didn’t feel there was any.
On days when I felt less-than-positive, my commitment to positivity forced me to practice gratitude and love; to live in the now. Those times made me have faith that if I just kept going, and took one step at a time, I would accomplish the rather lofty goal I set for myself of not only focusing on the positive 24/7/365, but writing about it every day too. So I did.
That’s the way the Universe works, when you start on a path, you take small steps, and eventually you look back and see you’ve walked to a whole new landscape, and you don’t even realize that your little steps got you there.
Every time I fell into one of those writer’s block ruts where I felt like I had nothing left to give, I would suddenly have an idea, and not just for one post, but a series, which of course, would help me get caught up and then the ideas would flow faster than I could write.
Synchronicity Snippet: The song I chose as the “National Anthem” of my positivity journey is coincidentally by a group called Journey.
I learned that thinking positive is the first step in achieving any endeavor you take on, and with each step, things will fall into place. I can tell you that’s where “the secret” to manifesting your desires is – in doing the work. It doesn’t matter what you do, just take a step, in any direction, and that will automatically lead you to the next step, and then the one after that. Your job is to keep going, and believe that the Universe will keep responding.
Because it will. Believe it. Don’t. Ever. Stop. Believing.

I’ve yet to fully grasp the magnitude of this awesome undertaking, and I am beginning to see the results of my “daily workout,” with some small and some not-so-small manifestations of my desires. I know there’s much more to come, and with the end of this journey, a new one begins.
“All endings are inexorably tied to new beginnings. That’s the nature of the journey. It continues to unfold. It builds on itself. It can’t help itself from doing that. Cherish the moments, all of them. You have seen and felt much in life so far. But still, the best is yet to come.”
