Today Is The Day

Day 312

“Today is a new day. Don’t let your history interfere with your destiny! Let today be the day you stop being a victim of your circumstances and start taking action towards the life you want. You have the power and the time to shape your life. Break free from the poisonous victim mentality and embrace the truth of your greatness. You were not meant for a mundane or mediocre life!”

– Steve Maraboli

Well, technically, tomorrow is the day. Election day in America, that is.

I read a Chuck Lorre Vanity Card yesterday about his view on what makes America great. It mimicked my thoughts in a post I shared a couple of weeks ago, so I thought I’d share the vanity card today:

“Don’t be fooled. Big Daddy can’t save us. Our salvation lies within ourselves. Within our own ingenuity and determined effort. “Make America great again” is a bumper sticker for victimhood. But we are not victims. We are the creators of opportunity. Sure the system’s rigged. It always has been. So what?! We are a nation of immigrants who have consistently ignored the rigging. You won’t let us join your club? %#&@ you, we’ll start our own club. You won’t let us go to your school? %#&@ you, we’ll start our own school. You won’t let us earn money your way? %#&@ you, we’ll earn it our way. You won’t give us a chance here? %#&@ you, we will go elsewhere. You want to know what makes America great? I got two words for you.”

– Chuck Lorre

I copied his card, which was going to be the whole post, but put it aside after a while because I couldn’t find a feature image that I liked – I find that when I get stuck, changing my focus helps things flow better because when you make space in your mind for the things you want to bring into your life, they will show up.

So, I decided to turn the tv on, to find a Glade air freshener commercial playing. I don’t normally pay attention to ads, but there was a prompt to Shazam the commercial for a treat, so I did. The treat turned out to be a coupon, but there was also another little video on the Shazam screen, which turned out to be the real treat for me. It was the perfect message to go with this post. I went to the Glade website to get the video, and there was my feature image, literally blinking at me, saying “We’re Better Together.”

We are always being guided, even when we don’t realize it.

Today is a new day. Let today be the day you start taking action towards the life you want. You have the power. This is a time for harmony. Let love be the song that everybody sings. We are better together.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
