“How would your life be different if…you stopped validating your victim mentality? Let today be the day…you shake off your self-defeating drama and embrace your innate ability to recover and achieve.”
– Steve Maraboli
Have you ever met someone new and then you see them everywhere you go? Or bought a new car, and then noticed that it’s a very popular model, but you never saw it on the road before you bought it? Or you start a new diet, and you crave all the foods you’re trying to avoid, and somehow, everyone is offering you some delicious treat that’s on your foods to avoid list?
That’s the law of attraction at work. You attract whatever you are focused on into your experience. Like attracts like. So, when you hold a belief about something, whether it’s something you want in your life or not, you will attract experiences matching those beliefs.
When we experience something that doesn’t match our conscious thoughts, we tend to blame an external source. It’s not my fault. They are the problem. People should support this cause and speak against this injustice. This kind of thinking is detrimental to manifesting the life of your dreams because your thoughts create your experience.
Stop. Let this really soak in.
Your thoughts create your experience.
You are attracting those unwanted experiences into your life because you hold a belief that supports the experience. Whether your belief is “morally upright” or not is immaterial to the Universe. The Universe does not judge, it does not understand good and bad, it only knows what your vibrational energy is, and matches it.
If you don’t like what you are experiencing, you must let go of the thought, fear or belief that the experience is responding to.
One of the most important decisions you’ll ever make is choosing the kind of universe you exist in: is it helpful and supportive or hostile and unsupportive? Your answer to this question will make all the difference in terms of how you live your life and what kind of Divine assistance you attract.
– Wayne Dyer
There are people who believe that life happens to them, and they have no control over what other people do or say. It’s true – you don’t have control over other people. There are people who believe that they create their life, and that they have control over what they experience. It’s true – you do have complete control over your own thoughts and experiences.
When you believe that you are not in control of your life or what you experience, you give away your power to create the life you choose. And it is your birthright to create the life of your choice.
We are powerful creators. We create our reality with our thoughts. We can manifest the life of our dreams with our thoughts. We have the power to change the world with our thoughts. We have an inexhaustible ability to love, to overcome obstacles and to achieve anything, with our thoughts.
So, next time you find yourself in a circumstance that is not of your choosing, instead of pointing the finger outward to say what is wrong with the world, take a moment to look within, and see if you hold a belief that matches your experience. What beliefs do you hold about that unwanted experience? Are you participating in the creation of the very thing you don’t want?
You have the power to change it. Stop believing in the very things you oppose. By focusing your thoughts and attention there, you are lending your energy and co-creating those experiences you wish did not exist in the world. Stop validating the victim mentality. Let today be the day. Shake off the self-defeating drama and embrace your innate ability to recover and achieve.
YOU hold all the power. Stop believing in a world you don’t want to live in.
