Day 215
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.– William Ernest Henley
I started writing this post yesterday, but didn’t finish it partly because the words weren’t flowing the way I wanted them to, and I wanted to find the perfect video for this post. This morning, I finished the writing, but after much searching for a video, I still came up empty handed. Now, I was just about to publish this post without a video, but for some reason, I decided to take a look at my inbox. Not surprisingly, there was an email with exactly what I was looking for. Fitting, because this post is about believing that we are masters of our own destiny. Synchronicity. #theuniversealwaysdelivers
One of the most common limiting beliefs many of us hold is that we’re not in control of our own fate. We are conditioned to believe that there are certain things that we cannot change, that there are circumstances beyond our control that we must accept; that something or someone is to blame when things don’t work out the way we want them to.
Of course, things happen. We don’t control anyone or anything but ourselves. We are not responsible for what others do. Sometimes bad things happen that hurt us, slow us down, and even stop us from moving forward, and it’s a perfectly natural reaction to believe that we can’t do anything about the situation. That’s why this belief is so ingrained in our psyches and difficult to let go of.
The good news is that it is a conditioned belief just like the others limiting beliefs in this Lose Your Mind, Find Your Soul series. You can clear it, and reprogram your subconscious to know that you are the master of your destiny, not limited by your surroundings.
“You are the master of your destiny. You can influence, direct and control your own environment. You can make your life what you want it to be.”
– Napoleon Hill
No matter what you have endured in the past, you can move forward towards a life full of joy, abundance and all that you desire. Anna van der Bergen proved that in yesterday’s nail biting, emotional and horrific women’s road cycling race yesterday as she took gold after coming back from a broken pelvis sustained in a crash in the 2014 World Championships.
“You are not a victim. No matter what you have been through, you’re still here. You may have been challenged, hurt, betrayed, beaten, and discouraged, but nothing has defeated you. You are still here! You have been delayed but not denied. You are not a victim, you are a victor. You have a history of victory.”
– Steve Maraboli
Here’s the perfect video that showed up in my inbox today, to help you tap into your future.
No matter what you have endured, no matter what happens around you that’s beyond your control, you do control your thoughts, beliefs and actions. You are the master of one. Believe that you can move forward towards victory!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
