“Let someone love you just the way you are. As flawed as you might be, as unattractive as you sometimes feel, and unaccomplished you may think you are. To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a darkroom.”
– Marc Chernoff
When I first read the above quote, I thought it was awesome. Then I started to think about it, and realized that although it’s a seemingly positive message, it’s still coming from inside the box of limiting beliefs that we are conditioned to believe. I have a different perspective, but the quote inspired today’s post, and the quote card below is my “answer song“ to it.
We all get caught up with trying to be “good enough“ for someone or something at some point. Sometimes, so much so that we forget to please ourselves, to approve of ourselves, to love ourselves…just the way we are.
When we fall, we bruise; when we cut ourselves, the blood clots and scabs; our nose hairs block foreign objects and dust particles from entering our bodies. Those extra pounds are the body’s way of keeping us safe. I could go on about all the amazing things our bodies do, but suffice it to say that the body’s primary function is to take care of us.
It Is Built To Preserve Us. To Protect Us. To Heal Us.
It Is Perfect.
It Is Divine Perfection.
It can only be found within.
When you vibrate with an energetic frequency of unconditional love, the Universe responds by giving you everything there is.
Because the Universe is unconditional love.
So are you.
Just imagine what your world would be like if you could see yourself for Who You Really Are.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
